about

On the Markee is our third CD of original music and our first with the current lineup. The title track was written for Courtney Marshall and Angie Keefe who provided a venue, Gig Harbor MarKee, to launch this rebirth of Shady Day.
We have updated a couple of previously released songs, "There Goes my Heart (Again)" and "Just Another Tear" to allow the new group to add their flair. With "Lincoln Creek" we bring you our first instrumental and our first contribution from lead guitar player, John Gipson. "Old Folks" is a light hearted piece of nostalgia with an homage to Paul McCartney's "When I'm 64."

All songs feature Chad Shue on guitar and vocals; Rick Pritchard on bass and vocals; Dale Murrow on drums; and John Gipson on lead guitar (except "Long Long Time") Chad adds piano and strings. We were honored to have John Beach add the tenor sax to the rocking "Wait a Minute Baby" while Rick's grandson, Ian (age 12) brought us his clarinet and saxophone to "Old Folks" and introduced the he t generation of Shay Day.

The CD was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jason Suko, owner and engineer at South Sound Sound in Shelton, Washington.
