lyrics

What Christmas Means to Me

Throughout the years we’ve celebrated Christmases
With holly wreathes and Christmas trees; with friends and family
Some celebrate the birth of Christ; for some, a shopping spree
So with this song I’ll pass along what Christmas means to me

Peace on earth good will toward men glad tidings in the air
A helping hand to those in need; Love and kindness to be shared
Reflection on the life I’ve lead throughout the whole year long
Hoping when the final tally’s read I’ve done more good than I’ve done wrong

So now you know what Christmas means to me; much more Christ and much less pageantry
You may not find a gift from me beneath your Christmas tree
So I hope that you’ll accept this song from me

As a child I heard the tale of Christmas
From a manger in a land afar all those years ago
Now I never gave much thought about the frankincense and gold
But I've clung unto the words they spoke and let them fill my soul

Peace on earth good will toward men glad tidings in the air
A helping hand to those in need; Love and kindness to be shared
Reflection on the life I’ve lead throughout the whole year long
Hoping when the final tally’s read I’ve done more good than I’ve done wrong

So now you know what Christmas means to me; Much more Christ and much less pageantry
You may not find a gift from me beneath your Christmas tree
So I hope that you’ll accept this song from me
So I hope that you’ll accept this love from me
